Every promise, on its date.
What you owe and what you're owed, each with a date and a name. Overdue ones stand out, and a task you assign gives its owner a notice when it's due.
Dated, named, kept.
Your promises, in one list.
What you've got to do next, and what you've promised a customer, each kept in its own list on the record.
A date on each, and a name when you give one.
Every task says what it is, who it is about and when it is due. Give it an owner and it carries their name too.
On a list, or on a board.
Look at your tasks as a list or drag them across a board. This week's on-time rate sits beside them.
A reminder when it's due.
When a task you've assigned comes due, its owner gets a notice in the panel. Overdue ones stand out.
From a sentence to a ticked-off promise.
Five steps, in this order.
- 1 Add
Say it, it's a task.
Tell Felesh the promise and its day. The task is added straight away, with the date you gave it.
- 2 List
Everything with a date.
Every task on one list, soonest first. Switch to Mine or Overdue to see only what you need.
- 3 Board
Or move it on a board.
Drag a task from one lane to the next as the work moves.
- 4 Due
It tells you on the day.
When a task you've assigned comes due, its owner gets a notice in the panel.
- 5 Done
Done leaves a record.
Completing a task adds a line to the person's history. A completed task can't be reopened.
Where this does the most.
Noah asks you to call him back about a custom order. Tell Felesh once. The task is added for Friday. Assign it to Sarah and she gets a notice when it's due.
Task · due FridaySee the playbook →Maple Studio is waiting on the final files by Wednesday. The promise sits on their record with its date. If Wednesday passes, it stands out as overdue.
Overdue stands outYou told Mr Reed he would have the revised quote by Thursday. It's kept under what you've promised the customer, apart from your own next steps.
Promised to the customerWhat promises do not do.
And what happens instead.
- It does notIt does not pick an owner for you.InsteadA task starts unassigned until you give it a name.
- It does notIt does not notify an unassigned task.InsteadThere is nobody to tell, so it waits on the list with its date.
- It does notIt does not send texts or emails.InsteadThe due notice arrives in the panel, for the task's owner.
- It does notIt does not reopen a finished task.InsteadCompleting is final and leaves a record. Add a new task for what's next.
How do I add a promise?
Tell Felesh in your own words, for example "send Lena the plan by Thursday". The task is added right away with that date.
Who gets the reminder?
The person the task is assigned to, as a notice in the panel when it comes due. A task with no owner has no one to notify, so give it one.
Can I see tasks as a board?
Yes. Every task is on a list, and you can move the same tasks across the lanes of a board. This week's on-time rate sits beside them.
What happens when a task is done?
It adds a line to the person's history, and a completed task can't be reopened. Asking Felesh to complete or delete one waits for your yes.
Will it text or email me when something is due?
Not today. The notice arrives in the panel.
Hand it the work. Keep the decisions.
